American Legion Post 26 Commander Joe Kimbel (first photo, center) and Disabled American Veterans Post 106 Commander Ron Reavis (second photo, center) recently presented $350 checks to GCED President Jason Lemle. The funds, generously donated by the veteran posts, will be used to cover meals for Graves County High School JROTC students during an upcoming spring field trip to Fort Campbell.
The trip is part of the Community Connections program, an initiative designed to expose local high school students to career opportunities through hands-on, real-world experiences.
“We are extremely thankful to our local veterans for wanting to help these students explore the career possibilities in our military,” said Community Education Director Eric Walker. “This Community Connections field trip will give these students a glimpse into the wide options of jobs in the military during their service and beyond.”
GCED President Jason Lemle also expressed appreciation for the support, stating, “We are so thankful to the American Legion for sponsoring this trip for the JROTC students, and we look forward to the visit and learning more about the operations at this incredible facility.”
