Mayfield, Kentucky - Local business and community leaders gathered to celebrate investments of more than $26 million and the addition of 132 new jobs and 70 new contract positions at the annual Targeted Business & Industry Awards dinner hosted by Graves County Economic Development (GCED) on November 20 in Mayfield.

Fifteen companies accepted awards in categories including Business Growth, Builder of the Year, Business Excellence, Community Impact, Newcomer of the Year, and Icon of the Year.

“We are proud to see Graves County businesses continuing to thrive,” said GCED President Jason Lemle. “Our large corporate industries are showing steady growth, but so are the smaller, family-owned businesses. That, and the addition of two new companies, tells us our economic development strategies are on track and we’re delivering on our promise to make Graves County a better place to live and work.”

“It’s such a pleasure to be part of this event and see these outstanding local businesses honored for their achievements,” said Mayfield Mayor Kathy O’Nan. “We are proud of their success and thankful for all the ways they give back to the community.”

Graves County Judge-Executive Jesse Perry said the employers recognized at the TB&I dinner are the backbone of the county’s economy. “We are blessed to have companies here providing good jobs for our residents, and we want to see them continue to grow and thrive,” he said. “Congratulations to all the honorees.”

The coveted Icon Award went to Kendor Wood, a locally owned and operated manufacturer of cabinet doors for the wholesale market, recognizing their 40-year history of success built on innovation, quality products, and outstanding customer service.

Other award recipients include:

Industry Growth Awards – Mayfield Consumer Products, Universal Compressor Solutions, Progress Rail, Power Truss, Ingrams, Kendor Wood, J.U. Kevil Foundation, ACE Compressor, and Pilgrims Mayfield.

Newcomer of the Year Awards – State38 LLC and Botany Bay Cannabis.

The annual TB&I dinner serves as a milestone event showcasing the successful collaboration among business and industry, economic development, and local government that facilitates new economic opportunities and supports growth among existing business and industry in Graves County.
