Graves County Economic Development, the City of Mayfield and Graves County Fiscal Court celebrate the first phase of Exit 25 Interchange Enhancement project with local contributors and businesses who supported this project.
The Interchange Enhancement project of Exit 25 kicks off today with a luncheon for the community members who have brought this project to life. With the first phase of this project funded, the bridge will be painted by M&M Decorating and oversight provided by Artisan Contractors. This project has been in the making for over a year and is a collaboration of the City of Mayfield, Graves County Fiscal Court, and Graves County Economic Development, and over a dozen community businesses.
Judge Executive Jesse Perry is optimistic about the project. “Seeing the renderings of what this interchange will soon be is a special opportunity to send a welcoming invitation to tourists and community members every time they exit or pass under the I-69 interstate bridge here in Mayfield and Graves County. I am happy to see this come to fruition and look forward to seeing the project completed.”
Local businesses and industry were given the opportunity to contribute on the first phase of the beautification project. Eighteen businesses have stepped up to assist with the cost of painting the bridge going and coming into town on Highway 45. Those businesses are Barn Management Group, Trifecta Real Estate, Kent Price Plumbing, Graves County Fiscal Court, City of Mayfield, Linwood Motors, FNB Bank, Youngblood’s RV & Outdoor, CFSB, Hutson Inc, ACE Compressor, First Kentucky Bank, Riley’s RV World, Atmos Energy, Dairyman’s Supply, Averitt Express, Mayfield Graves County Tourism and Graves County Economic Development.
Mayor Kathy O’Nan expressed her gratitude for the local and state support. “This phase of the beautification project of the I-69/Highway 45 Interchange is exciting! We are so grateful for the contributions made by many local businesses who recognized the positive impact this project will make not only on Mayfield and Graves County, but on all who travel those busy highways. We are so grateful to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for their assistance, and we look forward to seeing the names our communities proudly and beautifully displayed!”
Jason Lemle, President of Graves County Economic Development is looking forward to the new enhancement. “The City, County and Economic Development have been working towards this for quite some time. Seeing this vision come to life is encouraging for our community and visitors. I personally am grateful to see this interchange enhanced, as it is the first thing you see coming into our community. Adding just a little flare can make a big difference to incoming visitors, businesses, and travelers.”
With the bridge underway, we move to phase II which has already been procured and will consist of trees, and shrubs being planted on the interchange. These new improvements will send a vibrant invitation to all of those that enter Mayfield and Graves County.
