Graves County Economic Development and Universal Compressor Solutions LLC celebrated the company's expansion with a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, May 30 at the facility in Mayfield. The expansion features an 8,000 square-foot addition and the purchases of new CNC machinery, according to GCED.

"Our employees are like one big family. They take pride in what they do," Universal Compressor Solutions co-owner Todd Pearson said. "It's encouraging to Brian (Davidson) and I as the owners to try and take care of (the employees). We provide high-paying jobs, and take care of our guys like they're family. They are our family. They mean a lot to us. We appreciate Graves County for everything they do for my business."

Since the company's beginning in 2014, it's specialized in the production and repair of aftermarket centrifugal air compressor parts. Universal Compressor Solutions is known for repairing impellers, pinions, diffusers, and a variety of other parts for large industrial air compressors, according to GCED.

"It truly starts with the homegrown family atmosphere...We're so thankful to Universal and what they bring to Graves County, and what they continue to grow here with their family, thank you, Todd," Mayfield Mayor Kathy O'Nan said at the groundbreaking ceremony.

The company specialized in the manufacture and repair of parts for industrial centrifugal air compressors at its 12,000 square-foot facility on Highway 45 in Graves County. It currently employs 13 people.

"The air compressor industry has been a staple in Graves County and supports high paying jobs," Graves County Judge-Executive Jesse Perry said, in a news release. "The skill and knowledge these individuals bring to our community are valuable to our youth and our existing workforce. Their $500,000 investment is a testament to the commitment the compressor industry has had and continues to have in Graves County. I am proud to support this expansion and the future of this industry in our community."

"Partnering with the air compressor industry is critical to the success of our community and I commend Universal Compressor Solutions for their investment and expansion," said Jason Lemle, GCED president.
