West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation (WKRECC) recently donated $15,000 to Graves County Economic Development (GCED) to support its mission to retain, expand and attract quality manufacturing, distribution, and service industries to Graves County.

The money is earmarked to support GCED’s recruiting and marketing efforts.

“Economic development is essential to help strengthen the local economy and provide greater economic opportunity for our members,” said WKRECC President and CEO David Smart. “We are proud to partner with Graves County Economic Development to help ensure their continuing success.”

“Our team is very appreciative of all the support we receive from the community and, most importantly, we are grateful for the utilities,” said GCED President Jason Lemle. “We have several projects underway, including the design of two pre-graded pads for build-ready sites that are intended to be completed by the second quarter of 2022, Lemle added.

WKRECC also provides technical support to GCED and WKRECC Planning and Applications Engineer Ricky Binkley serves on the GCED board of directors.
