West Kentucky Rural Electric Coop recently made a $15,000 donation to Graves County Economic Development in a move company officials say is their way of helping to strengthen and grow the economy in the communities it serves.
"By partnering with economic development, we can help bring new opportunity and prosperity to our communities," said WKRECC President & CEO David Smart.
The money is earmarked specifically to support GCED's recruiting and marketing efforts, one of the goals of WKRECC's ongoing financial support for local economic development organizations.
Company Engineering Manager Rich McGill also serves on the GCED board of directors, providing additional professional expertise and leadership, according to a news release Wednesday.
Similar donations are given annually to economic development organizations in Marshall and Calloway counties.
