Graves County Economic Development (GCED) and the Mayfield/Graves County Area Technology Center (ATC) are pleased to announce the release of a new Power in Partnership video that demonstrates how the program inspires students by introducing them to practical career opportunities and supports the development of a well-prepared workforce necessary for the successful growth of local business and industry.
Josh Heisner, ATC Principal, said Power in Partnership has been awesome for the school: “The goal is to link our students with business partners who can provide practical guidance on how to prepare for jobs while helping those students build a network that will be important when they are ready to take the next step. It’s great to have so many local businesses that are invested in the school and our students.”
“GCED has been vital in working with us to build this program and win grants for new equipment,” Heisner added. “We couldn’t have done that without their help.”
“As we come to the close of another school year, Power in Partnership is showing its worth as a key feature of our student career development program here in Graves County,” said GCED President Jason Lemle. “We are proud to partner with the Area Technology Center to make sure students see the value of the training they are receiving and how it can connect them with rewarding careers here at home. This video showcases one more way GCED is investing in future of our community and the local economy.”
Power in Partnership is a student-focused program fostered by the ATC and GCED that brings a wide range of professionals to the ATC classrooms to share their expertise and offer career advice and also arranges for students to visit area businesses to learn more about career opportunities.
