Job Description:

GenCanna currently has an open position for full-time Farm Mechanic at our Western Kentucky location. In this role, the Farm Mechanic will be maintenance on late model John Deere equipment, Peterbilt Kenworth trucks, and all other supporting equipment associated with the farm and seed business. Will drive truck at harvest time, and through the winter. Will maintain and help operate various harvest and crop processing equipment.

Farm Mechanic responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems Assess and repair equipment on a team and individual basis. Diagnose and provide a quote of needed parts and labor for equipment repair. Perform inspections and recommend repairs on equipment to help eliminate down time for our operators. Working with the parts team to quote the correct parts for repairs. Complete repairs on equipment using the steps outlined in the service manual to ensure equipment is fixed to OEM specification. Writing a detailed report of the repairs made on equipment for proper documentation. Responsible for properly and proficiently diagnosing necessary equipment repairs or replacements and carrying out same repairs or parts replacements. Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner to allow service clerk to properly account for all parts and labor used to complete repairs. Maintains a current set of all working tools needed to complete the required equipment repairs. Responsible for continuously improving knowledge and proficiencies independently and through training sessions. Assists in maintaining a clean and well-organized work area whether it is a service bay or field service vehicle. Preferred Qualifications: Class A CDL
