Job Description:

GenCanna currently has an open position for full-time Agriculture Technician I at our Western Kentucky location. In this role, the Agriculture Technician I will assist West KY Operations manager and Field Supervisor as required in various technical and supervisory assignments. Primary functions include but are not limited to the safe operation and maintenance of the circles in the assigned area, assist in water scheduling and irrigation. Work performed is to be of high quality to ensure accuracy and a low downtime with limited supervision.

Agriculture Technician I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist in the safe application of fertilizers and chemicals according to label, including calibration, maintenance and accounting of their operations, as directed. Learn techniques of irrigation scheduling which may include soil moisture measuring equipment. Operation and site maintenance. Maintain necessary maintenance records as required. Understand the operation of pressure regulation valves and safely assist the irrigation department in troubleshooting electrical problems and making mechanical repairs to irrigation pivots. Formulate dry fertilizer and mix liquid fertilizer as per assignment. Operate and perform minor equipment repairs as necessary. Follow company procedures, policies and safety rules. Performs various other tasks as required. Recognize crop diseases and pests. Prescribe corrective actions. Preferred Qualifications: B.S. Degree in Agronomy or related field experience required. Provide quality tools to safely and accurately perform job duties. Valid driver?s license. Private Pesticide Applicators license required. Agriculture background and experience highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting Bending Kneeling Twisting Wrist, hand, and finger movement
